The Philadelphia Eagles are under fire after reports surfaced claiming the team rejected an invitation to visit the White House, sparking outrage from conservatives and football fans alike.
According to a report from The Sun, the team responded with a “massive no” to President Donald Trump’s invitation, but a Politico report citing an anonymous White House official denied the claim. The Eagles themselves have yet to comment, fueling speculation over whether they are snubbing the president—or just avoiding the backlash.
The reaction was swift and brutal. Megyn Kelly, former Fox News anchor, didn’t hold back: “GO F YOURSELVES EAGLES. My husband is a fan so I got onboard but F this BS.”

Actor Matthew Marsden echoed the sentiment: “I have always maintained that I do not care who the President of the United States is, if I was invited to the White House I would go. It is about the office, not the person. The Eagles might have won the Super Bowl, but they lost the goodwill most of the American people had for them. Classless move.”
Another fan kept it simple: “You know what, I will never support that team again. Fk the Eagles.”**
This isn’t the first time the Eagles have made headlines for their White House drama. In 2018, after winning Super Bowl LII, the team had their invitation revoked by Trump when it became clear only a handful of players—and the team mascot—were planning to attend.
At the time, Trump fired back, saying: “The Eagles wanted to send a smaller delegation, but the 1,000 fans planning to attend the event deserve better.” Instead of celebrating the team, Trump held an event honoring America and playing the national anthem, a move that won him support from fans disgusted by the NFL’s political grandstanding.
This latest controversy is especially notable given Trump’s popularity in Pennsylvania. If the Eagles did reject the invite, they’ve just alienated a major portion of their fan base in a state Trump won in the last election.
If the Eagles are hoping this all blows over, they might be in for a surprise. Turning your back on the White House is one thing—turning your back on your own fans is another.
