Dems’ New Reparations Task Force Is HORRIFYING

The decision by Boston Mayor Michelle Wu to establish a reparations task force is yet another example of Democrats’ obsession with race and identity politics. Instead of focusing on policies that benefit all residents, Wu is diverting half a million dollars to a committee to dig up the city’s past involvement with slavery, which ended over 150 years ago.

This move to study reparations is not about healing or progress; it’s a political gesture aimed at appeasing a particular segment of the voter base. It’s an attempt to rewrite history and assign blame to contemporary citizens for actions they had no part in. The task force’s budget of $500,000 is taxpayer money that could be better spent on current issues facing Bostonians, such as improving education, addressing homelessness, or enhancing public safety.

Moreover, the concept of reparations itself is deeply flawed and divisive. It presupposes that individuals today, who have no connection to slavery, owe something to others based solely on the color of their skin. This is not only unfair but also fosters resentment and division among different racial groups.

Wu’s approach is reminiscent of other Democratic leaders like New York Governor Kathy Hochul and California’s reparations report, which focus on symbolic gestures rather than substantive policy changes that uplift all communities. It’s telling that the Boston City Council, under Democratic leadership, is more interested in exploring reparations rather than addressing the immediate needs of its citizens.

Furthermore, the idea of a meeting exclusively for “electeds of color,” as reported last month, highlights the hypocrisy and racial division these initiatives foster. Imagine the outcry if a meeting was held exclusively for white elected officials. This double standard is unacceptable and only serves to widen the racial divide.

Mayor Wu’s establishment of a reparations task force is a misguided effort that distracts from the real issues facing Boston today. It’s a waste of resources and a step backward in achieving true equality and unity. The focus should be on policies that benefit all residents, regardless of race, and address the current challenges the city faces.

  1. The one and only priority for the crooked politicians anymore is get the vote needed to get re-elected. This is just another way of using the taxpayers money to buy votes.

    1. REPARATIONS! Really? Blacks have been getting (& are still getting) financial assistance compliments of all the hard-earned American taxpayers’ dollars! In fact; the Program is called; ‘The War on Poverty’ (also known as, ‘Economic Opportunity Act’ of 1964) Purpose was to 1.) Eliminate poverty, 2.) Expand educational opportunities, 3.) Increase the net gain for the poor & unemployed & 4.) Tend to health & financial needs of the elderly. To date; $23+ Trillion hard-earned taxpayer’s dollars have been spent since the ’60s on; welfare, food stamps, unemployment checks, monthly child support to unwed mothers, disability payments, rent supplements, Section-8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits & poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses & colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance minority applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools & individuals all over America have donated their time & money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement & nursing homes for minorities! Enough already!

“Can you name any rights that White men have today that Black men do not? Really? I didn’t think so.”

“White Liberals seeking absolution for sins they did not commit and Black Liberals seeking empathy for injustices they did not endure!”

  2. Time to end this 100+ year old history. No one is treated differently today because of skin color. No one today in USA lived in that century and working people today because they are white should not have to pay those who have never been slaves. Maybe they should find the people who sold them, back in the day, from the Motherland. Get your reparations from them, they sold as slaves.

    1. THE ONLY FOLKS IN AMERICA THAT SHOULD. IF EVER WOULD BE THE AMERICAN INDIANS!!!!! SETTLERS CAME HERE AND RIPPED OFF THEIR PROPERTIES AND MADE THEM WALK TO OKLAHOMA!!! WOW, AND WHO WANTS WHAT??? THOSE OYHER FOLKS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED FARM HANDS AND AFTER YHE EMANCIPATION SHOULD HAVE ALL BEEN SENT BACK WHERE THEY CAME FROM!!! WALA. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

      1. Donald, did you know that Americans Indians also has slaves, When Indians got into a fight with another Tribe the loser took slaves. The winning tribe made the other Indians their Slaves.

    2. Exactly! If “THEY” were really serious about this and with the advances in DNA geneology you could easily find those descendants of slave holders today; but “THEY” do not want that because THEY want everyone to pay who had NOTHING to do with it but because they are WHITE!!!!!! Who are THEY????? Many in Hollywood, big business, banks and financial institutions, higher education, media, and tech!!!!!

  3. This is just another way to Divide America and if we all knew History like we should , the Democrats are the ones who started all the Slavery in the first place! Wakeup America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. How did the white man get the slaves to begin with. He bought them from African leaders who had captured and enslaved other Africans. Those are the ones who should pay reparations.
