Bernie Sanders Doesn’t Understand Why Walmart is Increasing Wages

Before Republican lawmakers passed through sweeping changes to the U.S. tax code, progressive politicians warned Americans that the richest people in the country were going to be the only ones to benefit.

These Democratic elites could not have been more wrong, and various moves by private corporations set to pay far less in taxes proves it.

Walmart, one of America’s largest and most recognizable retailers, recently announced that it will be raising wages for the lower end of its payroll.

In addition to being one of the country’s largest employers, the retailer is also one of the most hated entities in America. Ironically, Walmart’s owners donate almost exclusively to Democrats during election cycles, but that’s a discussion for another time.

Walmart isn’t alone in using its newfound wealth to benefit its lower end. Almost immediately following the Republican tax cut bill’s passage, various other massive companies dished out generous end-of-the-year bonuses.

It’s almost as if allowing people to keep more of their own money is good for the economy or something…
