Dems Push New Draft – WW3 Preparations?

In the midst of the intensifying conflict between Russia and Ukraine, a Dem lawmaker is facing harsh criticism for advocating for automatic conscription registration.

Rep. Chrissy Houlahan’s proposal would immediately register all men for the draft upon turning 18. This would not be the case under the existing system, which requires men between the ages of 18 and 25 to “voluntarily” register for Selective Service.

To her credit, Houlahan has previously backed legislation requiring eligible women to sign up for the draft as well.

Houlahan argued during last week’s proposal debate, according to Task & Purpose, that an automated draft sign-up would free up funds for “readiness and mobilization” as opposed to “education and ad campaigns to push people to register people” for the draft.

To be fair, in 2022, just 84% of eligible men will enroll in selective service. Furthermore, Selective Service will spend $33 million this year “to improve compliance rates.”

A congressional aide for Houlahan told Task & Purpose, “We really saw this as a chance to save resources and help young males avoid the issues that can come from not registering.”

Fair enough, but it is also true that if an eligible man obtains a driver’s license, permit, or other piece of identification relating to a motor vehicle, the majority of US states and D.C. have already automatically registered them for Selective Service.

Furthermore, men who are eligible but choose not to enlist face numerous severe consequences, including disqualification from federal student loans, positions at government agencies, and security clearances.

According to Task & Purpose, “They can also face thousands of dollars in fines or five years in prison.”

Houlahan’s idea has, however, drawn a lot of criticism. Detractors have sharply criticized her for attempting to automate draft registration, and they have questioned why she excluded women from her plan.

  1. I think it should be the man decision to register for Selective service, not the government. The government is always pushing people around and making them do things that they should have a choice to do. That’s all BS.

    1. Guess we know who the chickensh*t it who will run for Canada if the draft starts again…

    1. How about trans species entities? Surely the government won’t draft an aardvark or some other “furry”!

    2. I was just thinking that. If a politician can’t say what is male/ female, he/she, they/ them, it. They created this identity crisis. Not to mention what about those in command positions that can’t fully commit to biology either way, what would they allow in death of servicemen. Since women can’t serve Frontline combat where does a trans fight? Then what about those that want to identify as an animal? Don’t forget those eligible males that want a fast track to citizenship. Forget amnesty catch, detain, enlist. Foreign legion works for the French. Then there is the Islam and Hindu faiths. Not only should Christians die in protecting freedom. You have politicians fighting for justice change, yet they have sacrificed nothing and want to make laws to benefit themselves.
