The Real Cost of Driving an Electric Car to Save on Gas Prices

Everyone from Joe Biden to Stephen Colbert to Greta Thunberg is demanding that we all simply drive a $100,000 electric car if we don’t like high gas prices. This meme shows the real cost of what it would be like to have everyone driving electric cars. Actually, it shows the cost of every electric car that’s on the road right now.

You need cobalt and other precious metals to make an electric car battery. There’s simply no other way to do it. And the vast majority of the world’s cobalt comes from open pit mines like the one in this meme, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

If you’ve never researched mining in the DRC, just know that it’s worse than Communist China in terms of human rights abuses. Child slave labor and horrific abuses are the norm there. And it all happens so that rich white liberals can feel virtuous as they drive around in their Priuses.

No child ever dies in slave labor during the production of gasoline or diesel. But it happens a lot in the production of electric car batteries.

  1. Thunberg, Colbert & Brandon are IDIOTS. The scumbags hide the fact that a gas or coal powered power plant is the source of the electrical recharge. Rolling black outs in Californicator land, then when hundreds of thousands, plug in there purple fuzzy cars, Bam! the power goes out, thus the need to fire up & burn more coal or gas. The USA sits on the LARGEST coal reserves in the world. It is the most economical way to produce power. The coal industry provides millions of high paying jobs that boost the economy. Anyone who listens to those MORONS is an Idiot, Liberal Demonrat.

    1. There is still a lot of coal mining in WV and Virginia. Every piece of it goes to Communist China. 49% of the company mining is owned by communist China.

  2. I love how Biden tells us blithely, ‘go buy a Tesla’. Like real people can just plunk down 100 thousand dollars on a vehicle just because the government says so. We are not made of money.

  3. If you think electic cars are going to save us good luck with that lie. Look at places where wind and solar are the main. Blackouts, high costs. You won’t be able to drive a long distance trip without pit stop up the wazoo. Easy to pull off road and get gas and roll on. No more of that. If you can find a charger station it will take hours to recharge. You can bet if it says up to 200 miles without a charge. Maybe get 150 if no ac on, radio off, lights off and on and on. If you could get one is the next problem. Heard battery change in a telsa will cost 12,000 just for batteries.

  4. Electric cars are highly impractical and dangerous. They have been known to catch fire, and they might run out of power unexpectedly leaving one stranded. The batteries are huge and heavy, occupy much car space, and pose a serious toxic waste disposal problem.

  5. I travel thousands of miles in my car each summer to visit my families in FL, GA, NC, OH. I’d be getting around to everyone, never, in an electric car!! If I could afford a hybrid toyota, I would, but especially NOW, they’re much too unaffordable for a middle class MAGA like me. Maybe when we get rid of the fools in this White House things will get better. As the days pass and some other blunder occurs, I think it can’t get any worse, and then the next day it does get worse!!

  6. Our government really doesn’t care if we cannot afford an electric car. They never think even one step ahead about how we will charge them and again they don’t care. Our socialist government only care about their power over us.

  7. ONE CHARGING STATION PER 1000 ELECTRIC CARS. AT 20 MINUTES EACH. HOW WILL IT TAKE TO CHARGE YOU’RE CAR ? HOPE THERE’S NO LINE TO GET A CHARGE. THEN HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ? TO GET THE CHARGE ? HAV YOU NOTICED THAT A 90,000 MILE TIRE IS ONLY GOOD FOR 28,000 MILES. BECAUSE OF THE EXTRA WEIGHT OF THE BATTERY’S. THEN COMES THE TAX BREAKS TO BUY AN ELECTRIC CAR. NOW THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA WILL ADD 1,500 DOLLARS TO REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE EVERY YEAR TO REPLACE LOST REVENUE OF GASOLINE TAXES. NOW I’M ONLY A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE BUT I KNOW INSANITY WHEN I SEE IT.
THE CLIMATE CLOWNS WANT TO SAVE THE EARTH. BIBLICALLY SPEAKING THE EARTH WILL BE DESTROYED. THAT WILL HAPPEN. NO MATTER WHAT.
VOTE THE DUMB O CRATES OUT COME MID-TERMS. PUT LIFE & LIBERTY BACK IN AMERICA.

  8. They are over 6,000 everyday items That must have fossil fuel to manufacture, plastic being one of the 6,000 items, Even chewing gum requires This type of fuel to manufacture .How many items around your patio or in your kitchen that are plastic that are used every day? This is just partial .

  9. “You would save $60 per fill-up by going electric rather than using gasoline. So it’s [a] very compelling case.” —Jennifer Granholm …also … “California is powered by all renewable energy for the first time.”
Meanwhile … “U.S. News reports that “California energy officials issued a sober forecast for the state’s electrical grid, saying it lacks sufficient capacity to keep the lights on this summer and beyond if heatwaves, wildfires or other extreme events take their toll.”
The Wall Street Journal tells us, “The risk of electricity shortages is rising throughout the U.S. as traditional power plants are being retired more quickly than they can be replaced by renewable energy and battery storage. Power grids are feeling the strain as the U.S. makes a historic transition from conventional power plants fueled by coal and natural gas to cleaner forms of energy such as wind and solar power, and aging nuclear plants are slated for retirement in many parts of the country.”
So, buy that electric vehicle, It will look good sitting in your driveway while you scout for other means to get to work.

  10. We need to get rid of the stupid idiots that are in politics that are dictatorship and send them to Russia to be happy and to china we could have our manufacturing back so we would be independent instead of depending on another country

  11. Yes but they don’t tell you china is the biggest polluter in the world but they don’t say nothing to their king in China what we have is straight bullshit in the white house
