Think about this for a second…
Since President Barack Obama left office in 2017, who is the first person you think of when you hear the word “Democrat?”
We don’t have a lot of great things to say about the former president, but we will say this: the man knew how to construct a sentence. He had a rare gift of making the worst ideas in the world sound warm and appealing. He had a sway with his supporters that few before him could ever match. As President of the United States, he was an effective face for the Democratic Party, as disastrous as his policies were.
Fast-forward to today, and what have you got? Elizabeth Warren? Joe Biden? Or…even Hillary Clinton? It’s hard to pick one, and not just because the party is in the midst of a divisive primary contest. The party’s base has been so volatile and violent, that the fist thing many think of when the word “Democrat” is mentioned is the “obstruct and resist” demonstrators.
Obviously, this isn’t a good look for anyone.
